I've been hearing them for a few days now, but today as I was scrubbing the picnic table one kept buzzing me. After I finished scrubbing and hosed off the winter's accumulation of grime, I went into the house and cooked up some sugar water. Cooled it off a bit, then put it into the feeder and hung it on the shepherd's crook. The first hummingbird thrust her bill into it in under 10 minutes. I would guess she was one of the crew that nested here last year.
